The one thing everyone talks about afterwards: the food
This part of the planning process is a little more functional than fun. But if we’re honest, whatever the event, there’s always one thing everyone talks about for months — even years — afterwards: the food.
The tipi is the space. The food is the memory. A well-timed starter, a pudding that disappears in minutes, the moment someone asks for the name of the caterer. Guests may forget the playlist. They rarely forget what they ate.
If you’ll be serving food at your event, the most useful thing you can do early is check with your caterers on their workspace requirements. How much prep space do they need? How close do they need to be to the tipi? What will keep service calm when the room is full? Getting that right in advance is what lets the rest of the day feel effortless.
What we can provide
We’ve spent years watching how catering actually works on a tipi site — not in a kitchen with four walls, but outdoors, in all weathers, with a service that has to land on time. These are the setups we offer to help preparations and service run smoothly.
Catering Tent
A 6m x 6m catering tent with a direct awning connection to your tipi. It includes hard flooring, lighting, and six catering tables — a proper working space, linked to the event rather than parked somewhere out of sight.
Catering Tent Upgrade
A larger 6m x 9m catering tent with three additional tables. This is the one for bigger guest lists and more elaborate menus — when the kitchen needs room to breathe, and the service needs a little more space to stay composed.
Extra Catering Tables
Need a bit more workspace? We’re happy to provide additional tables on request. Check in with your caterers, then let us know what they need. It’s a small detail, and it is often the one that keeps a busy service from feeling cramped.
Start with a conversation
Every caterer works differently. Some need a wide plating area. Others want space for a wood oven, a dessert station, or a quiet corner for the washing up. There is no single layout that suits every menu — which is why we ask you to speak to your team first, then come back to us with a clear picture of what will help them do their best work.
If you’re still choosing a caterer, or you’re not sure yet how food will feature on the day, that’s fine too. We can talk through typical setups for weddings, parties, and larger gatherings, and help you plan a workspace that won’t be an afterthought.

A workspace that belongs to the day
The direct awning connection is there for a reason. It keeps the kitchen close to the tipi without bringing prep into the celebration itself — so plates can move, service can stay on time, and guests never have to watch the working parts of the meal.
Hard flooring and lighting do the unglamorous work: a level surface in wet weather, and a space that still functions when the light goes. If your caterers have a particular request beyond the standard setup, tell us. We would rather know now than invent a solution on the morning of the event.
